Golfer's Dream Golf Club in Port Perry, Just North of WhitbyAbout Golfer's Dream Golf Club

In August of 1999, a new course opened in the Durham region, right across from the Ocala Winery.

This easy to reach location is a twenty minute drive from Oshawa, Whitby and Ajax.

At the present time, there are nine full length and challenging holes. This scenic links-style course, with its spacious greens, will challenge all skill levels.

The sixth hole is a par 3 and runs 207 yards uphill from the back tees. In front of the green is a bunker which will usually catch any short shots.

The second hole is one of the most scenic and challenging par 4's in Southern Ontario. From the tee you can see across Lake Ontario and the CN Tower. This 467 yard hole will put even the scratch golfer to the test. With out of bounds on the right and long Fescue grass on the left, a long accurate tee-shot is required to reach the corner of the dog-leg.

9 holes, 3,140 yards, par 36

A dream indeed.  The testing layout set near Port Perry offers GTA golfers what we no longer expect of our local courses: a stern test, friendly service and real value.

Course designers made use of the natural surroundings to provide defences: linksy, uneven fairways, mounding, coarse rough and fast greens.  Almost every hole begs for description.

Though number one is a gentle beginner at 284 yards, number two, at 467 yards, can stand up against any par four in the GTA.  A monster drive from the elevated tee will leave you with a along iron into a ticklish, postage stamp-size green.  The third, a par five, is reachable in two if you can run your drive over the crest in the fairway some 250 yards out.

At only 300 yards, the fourth hole is the first to test your golfing IQ: canny players will direct their tee shots straight on the arcing doglog, leaving a short iron to a welcoming green.  Launching a drive over the trees and mounds is a low-percentage option.

The course finishes with a picture-perfect par five.  Long hitters will be tempted to squeeze their tee shot between the pond on the left and out of bounds on the right to set up a mid to long-iron approach.  Again, the smart play is to lay up, which does, however, stretch the hole considerably.

Exceptional conditions, great value and welcoming service round out a memorable nine holes.
